Students continued to learn so much about dinosaurs this week. They learned about the many different kinds and their many different looks. They learned that scientists think that dinosaurs may have been very colorful and that many may have had feathers. Many believe that some dinosaurs evolved into birds. They also learned at school and the museum that many prehistoric animals that lived at the same time as the dinosaurs were not dinosaurs, but there were prehistoric reptiles and mammals. To be a dinosaur, they had to have feet that walk on the ground, they can't exist anymore, and their legs have to be directly beneath them. So interesting!
In Language Arts, students practiced rhyming, learned about contractions, studied the letter A, and studied the -in word family.
In Math, students practiced naming coins and values. practiced telling time, found patterns in adding to teen numbers with the number 10, practiced subtraction, sorted and classified, and learned how to do vertical addition.
I still cannot get over how much these children have already learned this year. They amaze me everyday!
