Students read books about the season and changes in weather, animals, and plants. They made text to text and text to world connections, learned about different forms of punctuation, practiced decoding and segmenting, and learned about compound words. These students are unreal! I cannot believe how much their little brains can hold. They are all reading, writing, and becoming more successful every week. It helps that they practice both multiple times a day, and that they have such great supportive parents at home. :) Check out all the words we know now under the "Word Wall Words" tab.
In math, students are practicing numbers to 100, counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's, making patterns, sequencing first through fifth, number words one through ten, and telling time to the hour and half-hour. We are flying through our math curriculum with these little geniuses. :)
The students cannot wait for our field trip next week and to celebrate Halloween. They were very excited to make and bring home their adorable witches. Hope you are enjoying them on display in your home.
