The students were beyond excited to start our unit on Dinosaurs this week! I was amazed by how much many of them already knew, but even more impressed by how quickly they learned new information. They couldn't get enough. We will continue our dinosaur unit this next week.
We read stories and poems about dinosaurs. Even while reading fiction stories, we practiced finding the true facts in the story. Students practiced using information from a text to add to their writing. They also made text-to-text and text-to-self connections, and learned a lot of new vocabulary.
In math, we began our unit on subtraction. The students are already doing an excellent job! We also practiced making addition number sentences, sorting by attributes, graphing, writing numbers to 100 and beyond, and adding coins.

I wish you could understand how amazing this really is! This is what some of the students do for their Free Time! She wrote her own page from one of our favorite books. Just so so awesome! Playing a fun sight word game Love the creativity on all the different foot dinosaurs Yay! We did it! Some dinosaurs are called meat eaters. They eat meat. Meat eaters are dangerous. They eat us. Some other dinosaurs eat leaves. :) Zunairah's Outstanding 'O' words | Owen wrote his own version of the Pigeon books we have been reading. Many of the students have been doing this for their free write, and I think it is so incredible. So proud! Dinosaurs are cool and I want to see dinosaurs a lot. I love dinosaurs because they are cool. A lot of dinosaurs are super cool and they are big and small. (haha, I just love this!) Good Team Work Making foot dinosaurs I LOVE how nice they play together and share |
