In reading, students reviewed comprehension/reading skills of problem/solution, making predictions, inferencing, retell, and rhyme and repetition. This week we focused on making text-to-text and text-to-self connections. Again, I was impressed! We read stories about the 100th day of school and stories about George Washington and what it is like to be president. Many of the students feel they would be up for the challenge of becoming president. :)
In math, we began our unit on measurement. The students are picking up these skills extremely fast, so we will wrap up the unit next week. They also practiced writing numbers to 100, learned about making tallies, learned about even and odd numbers, and practiced adding nickels and pennies.
