We had a fantastic week celebrating Earth Day. We learned about many ways we can 'go green' and protect the earth. The students did a wonderful job talking and writing about all the ways they can help. We read many fiction and non-fiction stories, and made text-to-text and text-to-self connections. Students practiced finding rhyming words, compound words, and new vocabulary words. These kids continue to impress me everyday! The growth, especially in writing, is amazing!

We had a very fun week before Spring Break, and a fantastic week when we returned. The students came back ready to learn and definitely more mature. We will be starting to get ready for First Grade now. :)
Thank you so much to all that were able to attend parent teacher conferences. It was so nice to meet you all and talk about your wonderful children. The students have been learning about plants since we returned. They learned about how a plant grows as well as the parts of the plant and their jobs. Students did some wonderful plant writing, read lots of books about plants, and made some great flower art. In math, we finished our measurement unit. The students did a fabulous job on the test.
