Another great week completed! I hope you all enjoyed this beautiful weather we've been having. The students are really in the groove now and are hard at work. They've begun small group reading and math groups and are really buckling down. I am so impressed with what these students have already learned. In reading, we read All About Me books and focused on a book called See How We Grow. The students practiced sequencing the stages of a child. They also reviewed finding the cover, title, author, and illustrator, and practiced finding rhyming words. In math, we wrapped up our unit on greater than and less than. The students are really doing a great job with this confusing unit. We also practiced naming coins and their amounts, adding coins, making patterns, using place value, making basic addition sentences, finding the bigger number, and sequencing numbers. Don't forget to check out the Word Wall Words tab to see what word wall words your child should be beginning to read.
