We also learned more about birds, types of birds, and bird characteristics. Students practiced identifying books as fiction vs non-fiction and explaining why. They reviewed the purpose of a table of contents, and made many text-to-text connections between all the different Pigeon books. They wrote wonderful papers about penguins and made an -ick Chick for our word family this week.
In math, we began our Subtraction unit. Students are doing a great job so far. We also practiced adding coin, telling time to the hour and half hour, playing addition Top-it, and making ABBC patterns.
