Students loved reading Pumpkin, Pumpkin and learning about the life-cycle of a pumpkin. In other stories, they learned about all the ways a pumpkin is used from pumpkin pies to jack-o-lanterns, and even for boats! They made text-to-text connections as they read about the life-cycle of an apple and compared it to that of a pumpkin.
In math, students learned to make more and fewer, continued to practice naming coins and amounts (this takes all year!), practiced numbers words and color words, reviewed ordinal numbers, and began to learn number sentences.
Our field trip was an absolute blast! I cannot wait to return to Goebbert's Farm. Check out our awesome pictures!
