This week we studied Earth Day and ways to take care of the Earth. We read fiction and non-fiction texts about the importance of taking care of the Earth and ways to reuse, reduce, and recycle. The students get so upset at the idea of littering and polluting. Hopefully they will help us to make a difference.
In reading, students practiced the skills of retelling, finding the problem and solution, making connections, listing the beginning, middle, and end, and vocabulary.
In math we wrapped up our unit on solid figures and started our first grade review! Students also practiced, addition problems, multiplication arrays, sorting by color, shape, and size, graphing, fractions, and adding coins.
They had a great time making pictures and objects out of recycled materials! Check out their awesome work below.
I also included a few pictures of the amazing meal you all generously bought us. It was delicious and super fancy!!! Thanks again!
***REMINDER*** Our field trip has been moved to Wednesday, May 1st.
