Students LOVED reading doctor Seuss books and finding rhyming words and life lessons. They also enjoyed all of the other fiction fish stories we read this week, like Rainbow Fish and especially the Pout-Pout Fish. They practiced retelling the stories, comparing and contrasting, finding characters and settings, finding the author's message, and finding the problem and solution.
In math, students practiced odd and even numbers, learned about three dimensional shapes, learned about tens and ones with a fun game of "I have..Who has...", practiced adding over ten, and began learning about fractions.
The perfect ending to our week was our field trip to a Dr. Seuss play at Emerald City Theatre. The students laughed the whole time! It was so much fun!
