Amphibians

I was so impressed with the students this week! First of all, we filled our behavior trapezoid bag. Second, they learned so much about amphibians so quickly this week, and rocked our new math unit!
We read many non-fiction texts about amphibians and the students retained so much information. They created a web with many details and created some excellent writing about them. We also read a few fiction texts, and the students did a great job explaining all the reasons why the books were fiction.
In math we are studying attributes of objects. The students definitely understand this unit. They also practiced graphing, created numbers using place value blocks, colored and identified fractions, practiced reading analog clocks and sequencing them, and practiced finding the parts when given a whole.

Reminders:
~Book Reports due Monday
~Book in Bag and Tic-tac-toe due Thursday
~Spelling Test Thursday
~No School Friday - Teacher institute day
